Rimal Publications continues to make its mark
through books which are inspired by individuality and
fueled by the need to build bridges between the cultures.
Rimal Publications, an independent publishing house, was established by Nora Shawwa in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1993.
The initial emphasis of the the publisher, Nora Shawwa, was on children’s books, with the aim of encouraging young readers in the Arab world. Rimal published the first comprehensive full-colour illustrated Arabic/Arabic Dictionary for Children in the elementary and intermediate levels, an achievement hailed in educational circles. The focus on encouraging reading among children remains one of Rimal’s objectives.
Rimal Publications has since widened its horizons, to include books (mostly in English) on travel, world history and politics, art and culture – related to the Middle East and the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean.
Rimal’s underlying objective is to build bridges between cultures and enlighten the world at large about the rich history, culture and traditions of the Arab world. Rimal offers a platform for writers and artists who believe in its mission and recognize the quality of the publications to which the company is committed.
Quality is Rimal’s trademark, and the foundation of the reputation it enjoys as a fast-growing independent publishing house.

Rimal Publications is a member of the Cyprus Publisher's Association under the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry. |
