This book deals with the 16th Karmapa and his previous reincarnations, explains his lineage and the role of the so-called heart sons, that is the most important lamas surrounding the reincarnations of the Karmapa. Their main role has been to find the reincarnations of the Karmapa and to be his teachers in consecutive reincarnations. It also explains how those heart sons were initially found in their previous reincarnations, their development and real position in relation to the Karmapa.

The 16th Karmapa died in the year 1981, and this book has been published only a few years before his death. The book contains mainly black and white pictures and is becoming more of a collector's item in the market.
